Cancer New Moon

The Cancer New Moon is at 7:31 p.m. PDT at 2 Degrees Cancer. The Sign of Cancer represents, among other things, our home, family and our roots.  This is where we feel emotional warmth and security, where we feel the need to give and receive.  Depending upon where the sign of Cancer lies within your astrology chart, depends upon what area of your life is activated at this time.  The Sign of Cancer is ruled by the Moon giving rise to our “emotional responses,” our “feelings,” and “habitual responses.” Key words for this moon are words like nurture, relax, reflection, familiarity and emotions.

Every month we experience a New Moon followed by the Full Moon approximately 2 weeks later.  The phases of the Moon affect tides, how plants grow, and fishing to name a few.  Are you sensitive to the Moon cycles?  Take time to find out.  I did and I was amazed to find out that it is not unusual for me to experience sleep disruptions within 3 days on either side of a Full or New Moon cycle.  I gave birth to both of my daughters at a New Moon.  I’m more emotionally sensitive at Full Moons, and I “feel” added water retention in my body at that time.

A New Moon is an extremely powerful time for new beginnings.  This is a time to focus on bringing your hopes and dreams into reality.  One of things to give consideration to during this Cancer New Moon is how you nurture, and how you receive nurturing.  What does your inner child cry out for, and what do you “feel or hear” people wanting/needing from you in that regard?

I could write for days on various topics for New Moons and the watery Sign of Cancer, but I really feel compelled, given our complex society and issues of this time in history, to just remind everyone to use this time…the next few days…to just go within and reflex on your wants and needs, give and receive nourishment, and spend quality time with those you love.  Water your soul.
