Sagittarius Full Moon

I have been looking forward to this full moon for some months as it creates an important transit in my natal chart; however, a week or so ago my computer automatically downloaded the newest Microsoft update and bam!  I no longer had a computer.  Efforts to remedy this horrific situation have proven fruitless.  I finally had to let go and give in to the fact that I no longer had my faithful computer friend at my side for this lunation.  In fact, I didn’t think this article would ever originate, but the Universe had other ideas.  This fiery Full Moon at 8° Sagittarius 10′ culminates on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 7:19 a.m. PDT.  This Memorial Day morning I sat having my morning java feeling defeated and blue.  By the time I had finished my breakfast and washed the dishes emotions were rising high and fast to find a solution to this debacle.  And I did…I am borrowing a computer.  “Change your thoughts and change your world.”  ~ Norman Vincent Peale

My natal moon, Saturn, North Node, and Ascendant are all in the sign of Sagittarius. I most definitely felt energetic communication from this full moon giving rise to hope and optimism.  After all, the ruler of this lunation is jovial Jupiter whose search for truth and meaning with faith and confidence are paramount to utilizing his generous energies. Opposite this cheerful Moon is the airy curious Gemini Sun, who needs to communicate and make mental contact further solidifies this theme.  This expressive Sun shines the spotlight on emotional desires relative to our belief system, our ethical values and where we need to expand and grow to improve our sense of self…to connect with something that is larger and greater than our self:  The seeker of self-improvement.  With both the Sun and Moon in mutable signs adaptability or flexibility is more readily available for any changes or new situations presented.  Like the flame in a fire moved by air, go with the flow.  “You get in life what you have the courage to ask for.”  ~ Oprah Winfrey

This explorative Moon’s ruler, expansive Jupiter, is retrograde in penetrating Scorpio supporting the theme for going inward in a search for self-improvement.  The resourceful Scorpio full moon of April 29, 2018, may have illuminated areas of  life that can be now fully integrated giving way to the transformation that beckons.  Mars, the traditional ruler of Scorpio, provides the fuel to initiate the action, as well as supportive strength and willpower.  Assertive Mars is in progressive Aquarius and ruled by the teacher, Saturn; thus, structure, organization, and discipline with concrete efforts will be necessary to secure long-term plans.  Saturn rewards hard work.  “…I am not your rolling wheels, I am the highway…”  ~ Audioslave, lyrics by Chris Cornell

The Sun’s ruler, expressive Mercury, in the final degree of Venus-ruled Taurus, moves into chatty Gemini later in the afternoon of this Full Moon (4:48 p.m. PDT).  Examine where all manners of communication may have become too fixed.  Versatile Mercury’s ruler, Venus in intuitive Cancer, is ruled by the Moon reinforcing the underlying explore and expand Sagittarius theme.  Desirous Venus is in a Grand Trine with seeker Jupiter in transformative Scorpio and elusive Neptune in mystical Pisces.  Recognize illusions and deceptions, overconfidence and overextending, but most of all nurture yourself in your aspirations for knowledge and wisdom of self.  “Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.”  ~ Miles Kington
