Virgo New Moon

As we make the shift into fall the mutable, earthy Virgo New Moon arrives at 10:30 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, joining the Sun and the three inner planets: Mercury, its planetary ruler, Venus, and Mars.  The fiery dog days of summer are handed over to the cooler earthy days of fall along with our need to analyze and seek perfection.  “And all at once summer collapsed into fall” ~Oscar Wilde

The dark moon is what is hidden.  It is also a time for new beginnings.  We’re wanting to analyze our experiences from recent events, sorting through them and throw off what isn’t working in our life.  What does not allow us to function most efficiently on a personal, spiritual, and physical basis is up for renewal.  With so much Virgo energy we’ll be thinking about perfecting something, which will be followed by practical, methodical, and exacting methods for manifestation.  Years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do” ~Unknown

Virgo is also about service and healing.  Let your spirit soar this lunar phase.  Volunteer.  Join community outreach programs such as Meals on Wheels, or something similar.  Help an elderly or disabled with groceries.  Give a healing touch to someone in need.  A kind word.  Remember to take time to ground yourself in mother earth, give thanks for having survived the wild toad ride of summer, and remember gratitude.  “Be not afraid of greatness”  ~Unknown
